Banks and Credit Unions have Differences 

Credit Unions

  • Credit Unions offer memberships to a designated group.  The designated group may be based on your employer or the geographical area where you live or work.
  • Credit Unions are a Not For Profit organization

Banks

  • Banks may accept anyone as a customer regardless of where you live or work
  • Banks will participate in more complex commercial loans for real estate development and multi-national business needs
  • Banks are For Profit companies
